I cannot tear away this gaze
I am lost within myself
While loved in nature’s tears
How am I left
But to myself to rend
While my love screams my broken lament
And I whistle mindless dissent
For I sit without fear
Or pain heart or tear
Empty is the shell
Of me
How did I get to this dreaded place
Through strife and haste
Pull away I must
For exhaustion kills the lust
Where to look but within
And seek that spark of sin
Wrestle it to the ground
And scream at what I have found
For this is the path I chose
To battle my selfish foe
