Updates: “Breathe” Pre-Orders Available
Contrapuntos XI
I don’t write enough of these updates with my teaching schedule and all that. I’m currently up at Skidmore College, diving into a three-week intensive Poetry & Fiction course (7 hours of class time a day) for gifted youth.
While I was in the thick of metaphor, personification, and scene tension, I discovered the publisher of the multi-lingual literary journal Contrapuntos has enabled pre-orders. In the magazine, you’ll find a cadre of insightful and gripping narratives along with poetry.
There, you’ll also discover my story “Breathe,” which explores the need to find purpose when we have nothing, framed around a dystopian near-future.

I’m really proud of this story. I had been working on and off with it for the last five years. The narrative finally clicked when I realized I hadn’t reached its true ending. After diving in a bit deeper and seeing where the character took me, only then did I discover the story’s proper close. Below you’ll find the link to Contrapuntos Magazine’s publisher Digitus Indie and the pre-order.
Hope you get a copy, and thank you again to everyone for reading my work.
